CollegeVine

CollegeVine

An educational technology startup with a mission to provide college admissions guidance services for high school students and their families.

At CollegeVine, I was the design lead for the Platform team that is responsible for delivering end-to-end consultant experiences to seamlessly set up their availability, schedule a session, and initiate a video chat with our students. I also designed web-based internal tools for cross-functional teams that focus on employee management, client onboarding, and consultant activity. I helped scale our design team by building an on-brand and consistent, shared design system. I was also responsible for revamping a series of illustrations to better help students understand the college admission process and materials.

Objective

Design a workflow and UI that allows 100% of hourly work to be trackable. Logging compensation was confusing and inconvenient—our consultants were not sure how to log work correctly in our system. Our company wanted to accurately track all hourly costs and to be able to attribute them to specific end users and products.

Project Overview

I designed a new compensation logging system that helps our consultants to easily log multiple work items. By streamlining how consultants log different types of tasks, the new workflow helps our consultants by compensating them quicker for the work they have done for our clients and CollegeVine. The shift in the process was coordinated across different teams; we’ve recently launched and are currently testing it out!
